Today we’re talking about freedom. Given we’re going into the 4th of July holiday weekend, a time of celebrating freedom let’s talk about that internal expression of freedom.
Before we launch into it, I want to make sure you’ve liked and subscribed to this podcast and accessed your free download HERE: to get your three strategies to say yes to you, it’ll guide you through a practice for being able to identify ways in which you don't always say yes to yourself and how to do it differently so you live different.
Freedom, as in your personal freedom.
This holiday reminds us of what the founding members of our country were about: giving individuals the right to choose.
The country was founded by people persecuted in the countries they came from.
They came here to experience liberation, freedom. To live their unique desires, to be emancipated from somebody telling them how they should be and what they should do.
I see this as the reminder for us to step up for our freedom, our ability to claim the right to choose.
For me freedom: mean’s choice.
Being willing to decide what’s right for you, not based on somebody else's external idea of what “you should be doing” or “how you should do things”. But from a place of being able to step up for what is right for us.
Many time’s I see people not doing that. I know this was true for me some time ago. Making choices based on how “I thought things should be”. Other times “others expectations”, “societal expectations of what it meant to be doing it right”.
This time invites us to go inside and discover on a daily basis:
Where we’re taking personal choice:
Saying yes to things that are really important to us.
Exercising our own personal freedom?
Clothes we wear, dialogues we have with our family, with our children, our pets, how you show up for work, ideas you bring to the table.
All of it is based on your own personal idea of what’s right for you. Personal freedom isn’t based on what somebody else is telling you, how it should be, how you have to live your life and that place of freedom.
Means you wake up feeling ease, excited, engaged because you're making choices that feel in alignment with who you are. Not based on how somebody else thinks you should be. I know when I first started to make conscious choices in my life.
Look forward to hearing your comments!
With love,
